FAQ

1. What should I wear on the tour?

We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and lightweight, breathable clothing, especially during the summer months when temperatures in Crete can be quite high. Don’t forget a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun. Chania’s streets can be uneven, so sturdy footwear is essential for a pleasant experience.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure a smooth check-in process. Unfortunately, our guide cannot wait more than 10 minutes for late arrivals, as it disrupts the experience for other guests. If you’re running late, please contact us immediately, and we’ll do our best to assist.

Yes, our tours are family-friendly! However, please note that the tours involve walking for a few hours, so consider whether your children are comfortable with this level of activity.

Due to Chania’s historic infrastructure, including uneven surfaces, narrow pathways, and steps, our tours are not suitable for wheelchair users or those with significant mobility challenges. We apologize for any inconvenience and we’ll be happy to suggest alternative experiences.

Our tours typically last around 3,5-4 hours and involve walking at a leisurely pace. The total distance covered is approximately 3 kilometers (1,5-2 miles), with stops for tastings and culinary stories along the way.

You’ll enjoy a variety of local Cretan specialties, such as olive oil, cheese, honey, pastries, and traditional dishes. You’ll have the chance to try local wines, raki, and other beverages as part of the experience. Non-alcoholic options are also available. While we strive to accommodate dietary restrictions, we cannot guarantee alternatives for all allergies or specific dietary needs due to the nature of Crete’s culinary scene and shared kitchen environments. Please inform us of any allergies or restrictions when booking, and we’ll do our best to adjust where possible.

Unfortunately, due to the traditional nature of Cretan cuisine, which heavily relies on dairy, meat, and gluten-containing ingredients, we are unable to provide a comparable experience for vegans or gluten-free guests. For this reason, our tours are not suitable for these dietary groups. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Our tours run rain or shine, so please bring an umbrella or raincoat if needed. In case of severe weather, we’ll contact you to reschedule your tour for another available date. Refunds are only provided if rescheduling is not possible for you.

Absolutely! Private tours are available for groups. Contact us directly to arrange a personalized experience.

We understand that unexpected situations like flight delays, ferry cancellations, or other force majeure events can occur. In such cases, please contact us as soon as possible. We’ll offer you the option to reschedule your tour for another available date or provide a refund if rescheduling is not possible.
